The Vector Story
Vector Money Management was founded by Ashby M. Foote, III and incorporated in the state of Mississippi in November, 1988. Since Vector’s establishment, Ashby has served as the company’s Investment Strategist and Chief Investment Officer.
Ashby spent his teenage years in Clinton, MS and graduated from Clinton High School in 1969. After graduation, Ashby elected to attend the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) in Hattiesburg, MS. Upon completion of his first year at USM, Ashby decided to follow in his father’s footsteps, and, upon his acceptance, entered the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY in the summer of 1970. Ashby went on to graduate with the class of 1974 and spent the next fiveyears on active duty in the military. Ashby then left the Army and returned to Mississippi to pursue a career in the investment arena.
Ashby spent more than three years as a stock broker with McLarty & Duddleston before moving to Sunburst Bank in Jackson, MS, where he served as the Trust Investment Officer for over four years. This eight plus year period provided the background knowledge and established the groundwork for the inception of Vector Money Management, Inc., a Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm currently registered with the Securities Division of the Mississippi Secretary of State's Office.
Today, Vector Money Management has been serving Mississippi investors for more than 20 years and Ashby has more than 30 years of investing experience across a wide variety of economic and market conditions. The result? A lot of lessons learned and judgment earned, which we expect to prove valuable to our clients in the days and years to come.
